The Creative Arts Program covers the areas of Visual Arts, Music, Drama and Dance.

Children engage in learning experiences in all of these areas as part of their natural growth and development. These learning experiences contribute to the development of the whole child.

Learning in each of these art forms does not occur automatically. Regular learning experiences that are thoughtfully planned, sequenced and related are essential for developing student’s skills, knowledge and understanding in this Key Learning Area.

At our school not only are the children provided with wonderful learning experiences in the classroom but they are given many additional opportunities to further develop their talents.

·         We give all children the opportunity to learn an instrument and join the school band.

·         We have choir programs running throughout the year.

·         We give children the opportunity to showcase their artwork in the public domain. In the last three years we have been involved in the ‘Not Just a Brush’ program and have had artwork selected to be displayed at the Hazelhurst Gallery.

·         We give all children the opportunity to join the Junior and Senior dance programs and for many years now have been selected to perform at the Sydney East Dance Festival and the Schools Spectacular.

·         We have been involved in the Sydney Drama Festival.

·         We give children from K-6 the chance to perform at the Sutherland Shire Schools’ Music Festival at Sutherland Entertainment Centre.
