• The Science and Technology program at Yarrawarrah assists students to understand themselves and the environment. Children are provided opportunities to develop through first–hand experiences, investigating, designing, solving and clarifying understandings in such units as Out in Space, Our Australia and What’s Alive.

Science Days and CSIRO visits are but a small part of our experiences. The Science curriculum is closely linked with Environmental studies. This develops awareness, knowledge and understandings of the environment, positive and balanced attitudes towards it and skills which will enable students to participate in determining and improving the quality of the environment.

Yarrawarrah is involved in many programs such as recycling materials, using solar power, water, power and resource conservation, care and appreciation of our school built environment and its natural fauna and flora. Children visit the Royal National Park, Botanic Gardens, Science Centres, Museums and Zoos.

Students celebrate and participate in the following events depending on the Science and Environmental topics being covered: World Environment Day, Water Week, Clean Up Australia Day, Arbor Day, Wattle Day, and Plant a Tree Day.
